–ismo | Art Journal

-ismo is an art journal dedicated to providing continuity to artistic movements of the past by repositioning them within a contemporary context. The project is built on the observation that the art of the past is deeply connected to the present. To reinforce this link, we developed a "point of union" between the reader and the publication. This is achieved by appropriating the hyphen and treating it as a Golden Ratio, which serves as the foundation for a coherent and fluid visual narrative.

ismo – 1

–ismo is an artistic journal divided into five themes of personal interest defined by the authors: music, cinema, photography, architecture, and urban art. The themes are strategically sequenced based on their sensory impact. The first three focus on sensory stimuli, while the final two (architecture and urban art) transition into conceptual explorations of space and time.

It is intended that each edition of the newspaper has a unique language, making it, in a certain way, a collectible newspaper. In this manner, its visual communication respects and expresses a specific artistic movement. From this idea emerges the name derived from the suffix –ismo. This suffix affirms itself artistically through the strength present in each movement to be addressed, thus respecting the continuity that exists from one artistic movement to another. Everything follows on from something else; everything emerges from the past to be thought in the present.
